Leed Development in Toronto GTA
Leed Development of office buildings in Toronto is going gangbusters. Major new office developments have gone GREEN and for good reason. There are
significant reductions
of building operating costs realized by tenants who relocate to a sustainable green buildings.
What does LEED stand for?
One developer of a LEED GOLD accredited building claims rental advantages of $15.00 - $20.00 per square foot. Now I'm not sure this is all the result of going green - his building is off the core so there may be significant tax savings as well in comparison to other office towers in Toronto's financial core. Still leading edge companies and government may see an advantage in going green above and beyond cost savings and environmental concerns. It makes good sense to be a good corporate citizen and going green is a great way to prove this. There are also many claims for increased productivity for office workers as a result of environmentally friendly materials being used in green construction. Here's a list of green buildings in the GTA. Check back as I add more to it.
