Lease Termination letter

Lease Termination letters are required by most landlords if you decide not to renew a lease.

This is a formal business letter that tells the landlord you will be vacating.

Best practices are to clearly state your address and suite number. If you are required to give notice by a certain date make sure that you do so.

In addition, ensure that you are vacating in accordance with any terms in the lease regarding notification.

Ensure also that you specify address and suite number and that you are vacating under good terms.

It’s always a good idea to give your landlord your new address and phone number in case there is a reason he or she needs to get in touch with you for something that might turn out to be important to you.

If you are terminating a lease before the term is over ensure that you have both the landlord’s permission and that you have this in writing.

It’s also a good idea to get the landlord to sign off on any early termination.
